Overall Opinion :
Nyla is a woman that never disappoints. When I first met Ren and Lex in book 1 of this series , I kind of lost my mind because of the ‘unrequited-love’ trope as it’s one of my top reads. I was totally expecting their story to be the second book because they took the majority of book 1 for me. Now just imagine my excitement when this book finally landed on my kindle! I totally jumped in as soon as I could and read this one in a single sitting. The book is long , with some amazing plot twists and reveals that you totally won’t see coming.
If you have read my reviews before then you know how much I rant about Nyla and her angsty romances , so I guess I don’t have to say that again. She is the queen who never fails to deliver the most angry , tear jerking romance for me. I don't know if it is the way she frames her words , there is just something that always makes her storylines hit my heart and I am totally sobbing by the end. Ren and Lex are a similar couple.
Although her books are very taboo most of the time , this series is not exactly taboo but it fills in the other triggers like dub con , non con , psychological horror and suspense , and tons of more triggers. Also this whole series is based on a prison romance.
Definitely recommending this one to all the dark MM romance loving people out there.
