I was a nanny in need of a job. He was darkness personified. I had little to call my own. He was filthy rich, powerful, and dangerous. The assignment was simple, and my goal was too. Take care of his son. Keep my head down. When he least expects it, destroy him. It should have been easy. I thought it would be until I looked into his stark blue eyes. Kissing the enemy is a bad idea, but so is falling in love with him. He doesn’t know my crumbling foundation is built on lies. When he discovers the truth, I’ll find out if he’s as brutal as I believe. I came here to steal his life. I didn’t count on him stealing my heart.

Plot Summary :

Alessio is someone who is known for his torture skills. That one skill makes him so dangerous that he has made a name for himself. The only innocent thing in his life is his son. The little guy has no idea about what his father does and still is wary of him. Alessio doesn't know what to do. Killing is okay but this little baby scares him. He wants a nanny who will take care of his baby, someone who will keep that spark of innocence alive in his boy. That is until he stumbles upon natalia. The woman is an enigma in herself. With scars over neck, he knows she hides a dark past and one look at her, he knows he won't rest until he has uncovered everything that is there about her.

Natalia has only one goal in her mind. To infiltrate Alessio's home. Being His baby boy's nanny gives her the perfect opportunity to do so. She was broken in the past by someone who was close to Alessio and she won't stop until she has destroyed them all and takes what was her's all along. The only thing she did not expect was Alessio and her attraction. Now she is trapped in this game of hate and pain and she knows that no matter how much a mafia Lord wants her, he will never keep her once he knows about her secrets and her own goals.

Overall Opinion :

Another enemies to lovers by one of my favorite authors ever?! Sign me up! I jumped into this one as soon as it popped up on my kindle. Ashleigh always gives the bat experience when it comes to her heroes who are so cold and yet caring when they fall in love. Alessio was another amazing example of that. My heart just broke for natalia. What she went through was so dark and torturous, still the amount of strength the woman possessed was crazy good! She is a queen and I am so happy that she got her happy ending.

I read this book in a single sitting because it was so good. It was a bit less dark than the other books of this author I guess, because I found the hero to be a bit tame but it was good nonetheless. It has a few triggering scenes and also the heroine cannot speak as she has her vocal cords a bit damaged. The twist in this book was something I never saw coming and it was one of the best parts! I loved this one so much!

Definitely recommending this book to all the dark romance loving people out there!
